  • Exemplifies strong leadership and mentorship in the development of staff towards achieving aggressive goals and objectives and fulfilling new growth initiative targets within the distribution centers.
  • Work with Vendors and Information Systems to implement and support the warehouse controls system (WCS) for automated conveyor systems
  • Develop material handling specifications, manage vendor bid process, and evaluate bids.
  • Work with team to develop efficient layouts and material handling systems for existing and expanded facilities, etc.
  • Based on data and review of operations recommend improvement opportunities for our warehouse and order fulfillment processes.
  • Ensure projects are implemented within schedule, under budget, and achieve expected objectives.
  • Assist with new construction projects.
  • Meets short and long-term cost-reduction goals through continuous improvement processes, increased efficiencies, elimination of waste, decreased cost, etc.
  • Drives process improvement related to workplace enhancements to equipment, radio frequency devices, material transport equipment, plant layout, software enhancements, etc.
  • Guides, manages and motivates Engineering team’s activities and output to ensure optimum efficiency within the defined scope of operation.
  • Prepares and administers Engineering budgets and overall performance metrics for the Distribution Center.
  • Manages project timelines by collaborating with Operations, Sales, Finance, IT and Marketing departments and provides regularly scheduled reports on facilities performance and projects.
  • Interprets and analyzes data and translates it into a range of problem solutions.
  • Communicates and works with vendors on equipment enhancements, innovations and automation.
  • Tests process improvements, systems updates and other program enhancements to ensure accurate implementation and effective training as required.
  • Maintains environmental, OSHA, safety and other regulatory compliance.
  • Supports Corporate Safety in ensuring all jobs are ergonomically sound.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Profile & Core Competencies 

  • 6 years plus of related experience and BS Industrial Engineering. Engineering and leadership experience required.
  • Engineering experience in distribution center or manufacturing setting required with strong preference for distribution center experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of conveyor networks and Warehouse and Order Management Systems
  • Must be an intelligent, analytical problem solver who is accustomed to questioning and challenging managers
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and delegate in a team-based environment
  • Strong multi-task and prioritization skills
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms to lower and upper management
  • Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information from various sources, and understand safety warnings
  • Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data, formulate metrics and perform essential functions of position
