Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician who wants to live in southern Oregon (southwest of Medford)?  Here is the perfect opportunity!  Our client is a fast-growing national manufacturer of alternative medicine (herbs) and has openings for two Maintenance Technicians (first shift & second shift).
 
SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining efficient production and operations throughout the plant through planning and coordinating the maintenance of all plant facilities and equipment in a timely manner. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
 
  1. Completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.  Follows operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications and diagrams.
   
 
  1. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation using precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose problems, and otherwise troubleshooting all malfunctions.  Repairs damaged or faulty equipment in a timely manner.
   
 
  1. Controls downtime by informing production department staff of routine preventive maintenance requirements and scheduling and performing them appropriately.
   
   
 
  1. Ensures proper operation of the septic system by performing routine tests and preventive maintenance as needed.  Schedules outside service crews to keep the system operating properly.
   
   
 
  1. Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking and maintaining stock to determine optimal inventory level.
 
  1. Ensures that all Maintenance staff work safely, and know how to properly operate all vehicles and maintenance tools and equipment.  Trains coworkers on the proper use of this equipment, and demonstrates safe operating procedures whenever working with any hazardous equipment or tools.
   

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred (not required) and 1 year's experience.
