In this position you will manage and control all creation, distribution and retention of all Engineering controlled documentation.
Essential Functions:
  1. Manages system to control:
    1. Bill of Material Structure
    2. Product Structure
    3. ECR/ECN Process
    4. Material Disposition
    5. Product Configurator
    6. Option Indexes
    7. Others as identified by management
  2. Manages and leads Engineering Documentation staff.
  3. Insures completeness and accuracy of the bills of materials and product data.
  4. Lead the communications on product changes to insure other functional areas of the organization are completely informed.
  5. Coordinates with Central Warehouse manager to determine and communicate material disposition information related to product design change decisions.
  6. Ability to develop strategies and systems to improve accuracy, clarity and efficiency of Engineering Controlled documentation process.
  7. Ability to research, define and recommend product structure and configuration strategies with the ultimate goal of allowing salesmen to configure trailers at point of sale.
  8. Ability to assist in evaluating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) System software and provide input on strategic software decisions.
  9. Develop and ensure proper naming/numbering conventions are used consistently throughout all Engineering documents.
  10. Must be able to interact with individuals at various positions within the organization appropriately from production staff to customer decision makers.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
  1. Must possess a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least 10 years of experience in an engineering role. 
  2. Ability to manage documentation staff, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
  3. Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format.
  4. Strong computer skills, including experience with various database programs and technical software including Solid Works/CAD, ERP/MRP software and the MS Office suite of programs.
  5. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
