This Central Ohio manufacturer is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to work with our cross-functional team. As the Industrial Engineer, you will work directly with the Operations and Sales team to develop logical and operational plans. Candidate will be responsible for developing, installing, testing, and maintaining cost effective methods of manufacturing, and also be responsible for generating and implementing cost reduction proposals for direct and indirect labor operations.
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for the following duties:
Assist with developing, maintaining, and managing a wide variety of projects aimed at improving and managing operations, implementing equipment and systems, developing and improving processes, developing standards and training associates
Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes production methods to develop standards for labor and machine utilization
Recommends methods for improving worker and equipment efficiency and reducing waste of materials such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
Measure variances to standards, identify out of control variances, investigate reasons, suggest solutions, install and follow up
Develop and design workplace layout through the use of motion economy principles, handling devices, etc.
Keep records of methods changes that reduce production costs and strive to attain budgeted goal
Develop manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures
Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
Participate in APQP meetings
Evaluate, write and support completion of Corrective Action Reports
Monitor Plant progress; publish program status; report feedback to APQP teams
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of projects
Coordinates the flow of information between departments
Assist in reducing floor space usage
Keep abreast of technology trends, investigate, and install most effective methods of manufacturing to keep company competitive
Supports Continuous Improvement using Lean and 5S principles
Comply with all company, safety and OSHA standards and policies
Candidates need to possess the following skills and attributes:

Proficient in standard computer usage (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook), as well as ability to learn proprietary systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering required and/or industrial engineering experience with Bachelor Degree in an Engineering field.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation is required.
Computer skills should include experience with drafting & calculation software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft, Adobe & similar Office systems.
Minimum 2 years related experience in Industrial Engineering in a manufacturing engineering environment.
