Our client has global manufacturing facilities and is focused on the design, manufacturing and integration of automated assembly equipment. Their end users are non-automotive as well as OEM and Tier 1 suppliers. Due to growth, they are adding a Director of Manufacturing to their team so that they can grow into a Business Unit Manager for their conveyor and test automation groups. The Operations Manager will be responsible for approximately 150 full time and contract employees. Direct reports include Machine Shop Supervisor, Mechanical Assembly Supervisor, Electrical/Pneumatic Supervisor, Service Department, Materials Manager and Purchasing Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible to oversee and direct the daily activities of the Machine Shop, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical/Pneumatic Assembly, Purchasing, and Service by providing daily guidance and consultation with the appropriate supervisor(s).
Monitors budgets as provided by Project Management.
Ensures adherence to established systems and procedures on the plant floor in accordance with QS-9000TE requirements.
Directs analysis on costs and operating efficiency.
Recommends improvements for buildings, facilities and equipment.
Works with Marketing and Product Development on cost estimating and conceptual layouts of new products and proposals.
Responsible for monitoring company established performance measurables and reprioritizing or adjusting systems/procedures to obtain the desired results.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred
Experience in industrial automation
Experience as a supervisor or manager
P&L responsibility is desired
