Plant Manager – Silica Mining & Processing


Responsible for administering and controlling all activities related to the operation of a silica sand mining and processing operation including quality control, maintenance, safety, environmental, labor and community relations, etc.. Coordinate work supervisory personnel in executing plans and achieving goals for location profitability. SOUTH CENTRAL US LOCATION. Administer all phases of operational activities, including:
  • Mining and material handling, processing, storage, and shipment of product.
  • Customer service.
  • Purchasing.
  • Receipt, storage, and disbursement of materials, operating supplies, and other inventories.
  • Maintenance of mobile and stationary equipment.
  • In-plant laboratory testing to control quality.
  • Establishment of satisfactory labor, employee, community, and governmental relations.
  • Operation of private truck fleets.
  • Establishment and direction of those activities that assure compliance with safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.

  • BS in engineering or related, and/or significant related experience within the mining and minerals processing industry.
  • 5+ previous years operations management experience within the mining and minerals processing industry required. 
  • Familiar with maintenance procedures and strategies for improving equipment uptime for fixed plant and mobile equipment. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a MSHA regulatory environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities to manage and motivate plant personnel.
  • Must possess strong mechanical and problem solving skills.
  • Must possess good mechanical knowledge & abilities to plan, schedule, and execute.
