Plant Operations Director
Report directly to the President


The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring operational excellence throughout production facilities, especially the Jessup plant.  Directly leads all department managers within the Jessup plant (i.e. Garment, Maintenance, Production, Facilities, etc.) with dotted line responsibility for Sales, Route Service and the Sunbury plant.  Ensure the highest level of satisfaction for both internal and external customers by focusing on effective management and development of his/her team; act as a liaison with Route Service function to ensure timely and proper resolution of customer issues; provide thought leadership to identify and implement world class process improvements, engineering controls and technology enhancements and maintain the financial health of the company by making decisions with an eye toward profit & loss.  This position is responsible for the full management of his/her team including:  hiring, training, directing workflow and individuals and discipline in our very fast paced environment. This is a senior executive level position that needs to balance strategic leadership with hands-on responsibility and accountability for productivity and quality and will often have to work side by side with his/her team to ensure these objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure the company objectives are met in a timely and accurate manner while ensuring overall quality.
  • Must have extensive experience with automated equipment (assessing and redesigning, working with manufacturers).
  • Lead an organization of managers to meet or exceed their department’s goals while maintaining a positive, respectful and accountable work environment. 
  • Maintain a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction by the timely resolution of issues impacting his/her teams, the Route Service and Sales functions and/or customers.
  • Through research, bench marking and brainstorming continue to find ways to increase productivity improve accuracy, simplify/streamline work processes.
  • Improve overall quality results by studying, evaluating, re-designing processes; establishing and communicating metrics; monitoring and analyzing results and implementing change.
  • Bachelor’s degree required but Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or similar disciplines is strongly preferred.
  • Ten (10+) plus years of management experience in a production environment serving a business-to-business customer base.  Industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal customers and every level of employees.
  • Must have demonstrated success in identifying and implementing enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Must be strongly organized, self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Proven job diligence, dedication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive, team environment.
  • Ability to re-prioritize as needed and think on-the-fly.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet skills and familiarity with production oriented software systems.
  • Must be a self-starter and have excellent leadership qualities.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
  • 150 indirect reports and anywhere from 1-5 direct reports.
