Our client, an exciting, creative and innovative manufacturing firm with plants in around the US and part of the global multinational company with markets in Europe, North America, South America and China. They have commissioned Sterling St. James, LLC to source, screen and qualify candidates for the position of Process Improvement Engineer for their West Kansas City manufacturing location. This is a full-time position with potential to grow with the company.
The firm has roots dating back to 1950’s and covers a variety of commercial and industrial applications in construction, security, design and storage, etc. The company has continued to grow and has made several strategic acquisitions that give employees a lot of opportunity to grow with them.
The company’s standards are high, but the rewards are great. They are poised to make an impact in their specialty market place.
DUTIES:
  • Develop Time Studies to understand inefficiencies in the organization and work to improve processes.
  • Determine and work to reduce and eliminate waste
  • Educate other in Lean Methodologies and importance of eliminating waste
  • Implement 5S programs Lead project teams in Kaizen events etc.
  • Design optimal layouts for product/ material flow and meet customer capacity
  • Write work instructions and procedures
  • Work closely with engineers manufacturing and management
  • Write request of vendors as well as cost analysis proposals to management
  • Create detailed process flow diagrams.
  • Work with suppliers to improve performance and reduce inventories in the value chain.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science Engineering, Industrial or Mechanical or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean and or Six Sigma
  • Excellent communication skills – Presentation skills
  • Ability to read & interpret documents.
  • Knowledge of ergonomic principles
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Excellent communications skills
