The Quality Engineer is responsible for improving product quality and efficiency through optimization of process, direct communications from the customer to the process floor, establishment of automotive quality standards, operator/supervisor training etc. Coordinator and primary customer contact for quality problems, containment, and permanent corrective action.
Manage customer relationships
Develop, improve, and effectively use Quality Systems and tools
Manage the APQP process
Lead and facilitate continuous process improvements related to customer products and processes
Utilize advance problem-solving skills to identify, contain, and correct quality issues
3 years in a quality engineering role.
Automotive manufacturing experience (plastic preferred).
Experience developing and implement complete PFMEAs, control plans, etc.
Fully proficient with program launches per APQP process
Advanced root cause analysis and problem-solving skills (5 Whys, 8Ds, A3s, etc.)
PPAP process and documentation experience.
Proficient reading blue prints and understanding GD&T.
Strong knowledge and implementation of lean manufacturing.
Experience and competence in supporting and responding to customers.
Thorough understanding and effective use of Quality Systems, specifically TS-16949 and ISO 14001.
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
