Position: Technical Superintendent – Process Engineer

Your unique role with the company:
This position serves as the technical liaison between R&D Lab Trials and manufacturing to confirm first runs are successful and maintain trial / project records. While reporting directly to the Plant Manager you will have 13 direct reports in the lab and ensure that all process equipment is operating at the highest quality standard and maximum efficiency. As the Technical Superintendent/Process Engineer you will also identify methods to continuously improve process and efficiency rates while overseeing the management of the QC lab. You will work with all business functions related to maintenance/engineering, including preventive maintenance, problem analysis and resolutions, compliance and cost control, and customer relations.

What we are looking for in a candidate:
  • Consult with the Plant Manager to initiate, develop, justify, plan, and implement capital improvement projects.
  • Manage the day to day operation of the Quality Control Department.
  • Utilize Kaizen, Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies to identify continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities for product, quality and production processes.
  • Review, update, and ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures on a continuous basis.
  • B.S. in Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering required
  • At least 1 year of experience in processing ETP colors with twin screw extruders
  • 1+ year experience in polymer processing in the compounding/masterbatch industry preferred
  • Knowledge of carbon black and additives in ETP polymers
  • Capable of evaluating manufacturing equipment to identify potential machinery upgrades
  • Ability to design manufacturing processes
