Industrial Engineer

Position Objective:
This position is responsible for driving improvements in a large, national multi-distribution center network. The Industrial Engineer is given the opportunity to drive major change initiatives and make a significant impact to the organization. In addition, this position provides engineering support for several distribution centers in an assigned region.  
 
Primary Responsibilities
Identify and implement productivity improvements
  • Design new facilities, facility retrofits, conveyor changes, and other material handling equipment changes. Implement improvements by coordinating the activities of vendors, internal resources and customers.
  • Identify, define, and implement process improvement opportunities. Address all aspects of a process, including people, procedure, systems, and equipment.
  • Assist with transportation optimization initiatives.
  • Manage budget, schedule, design, and coordinate a wide variety of distribution center improvement projects.
  • Help maintain and enhance Kohl's labor management program. Includes definition and refinement of best methods & procedures, time and motion study, coaching, and general program maintenance.
 
Support engineering needs of distribution centers
  • Assist with strategic planning and analysis, including forecasting, capacity modeling, and network modeling.
  • Support the engineering needs of several distribution centers.
  • Provide budget reports, negotiate pricing, monitor and report to Sr. Leadership
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations/Processing Management,
  • Previous experience in distribution/manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with statistical analysis, work measurement, and process analysis
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive
  • Confident decision making and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  AudoCAD experience preferred
